This week we are going to introduce the concept of Web 2.0 marketing which is basically user generated content websites. One of these websites that you can sign up for is called Squidoo. It is very similar to blogging except they call it creating lenses which you fill up with information and content for visitors, and you can also monetize it with various ads from eBay, Amazon and Adsense which all earn you money from your Squidoo lens.

The search engines and especially Google are in love with Squidoo. You can easily rank in the first position for a long tail keyword with many monthly searches simply by setting up a Squidoo lens and filling it with relevant content. It is also possible to rank for more competitive search terms with lenses but you will need to optimize your lens better and get many backlinks to it by writing articles and pointing it to your Squidoo lens.

Once you sign up for a free Squidoo account, you can start creating lenses immediately. All you have to do is create a new lens, give it a name and choose a keyword for its location.

As you can see it looks very much like a blog and you can add content weekly or monthly too it. The more content you add to your Squidoo lens, the better it will rank and the more traffic it will get.

Squidoo ranks all of its lenses by popularity and traffic which you can view in your members area. You can also add tags to your lens to increase traffic and visit other peoples lenses and comment on them linking back to your lens.

What you can do right now is start creating Squidoo lenses about Residual Wealth Factor and GDI. If you search around you can find other GDI lenses which you can get inspiration from to build your own. You can also do some keyword research and find long tail keywords with a decent amount of monthly searches to build additional lenses on. Just make sure they are related to things people would be searching for if they were looking to get involved with network marketing or mlm.

Once you build your Squidoo lens you will want to treat it like any other web site to drive traffic to it. Many of the ways of getting website traffic like article marketing and forum marketing work for Squidoo as well and also help increase your lens popularity when you start building links pointing back to your lens.

Squidoo also has groups you can join related to your niche where you can submit your lens and they also have a forum where you can start posting to get extra traffic.

PPC advertising is one of the fastest ways to get instant traffic to your website, blog or landing page. Although Google Adwords dominates this form of advertising on the Internet, their also exist other very highly effective ways to advertise with PPC that are much cheaper then Google and can get you lots of high quality targeted traffic to your RWF website.

One advertising that gets little attention, but is used by many Internet marketers for cheap PPC ads is called Adbrite.

If you have tried using Google Adwords before, you will know that getting your campaigns down to five cents a click can be quite a task especially if you are trying to rank for high competition keywords like make money online which can cost you a couple of dollars per click. They also have many rules for getting you ad published which can also stop your ad from showing or drive up cost per click with your keywords.

Adbrite lets you start running a campaign right away with only 5 cents a click and you can send the traffic to any webpage so the destination URL does not have to match the display URL which Google is getting more strict about starting in April.

The other cool feature that Adbrite has is the ability to target your ads in a specific demographic region and you can also choose income, age and other variables to target your ads to exactly who you want to get them in front of. You can either run a text ad, banner ad or a full page ad for your website and have the option of placing your ad on the website of your choice, so if you just want to advertise on websites that have making money online as a theme, you can target just them.

Getting started with Adbrite is very easy. All you have to do is sign up once and pay a one time activation fee of $4.95 and you will be ready to start uploading PPC campaigns right away. You can also display Adbrite ads on your website and make money when people click on them. It’s works exactly like the Google Adsense program.

Before you setup your first campaign make sure that you have some kind of ad tracking software to record how many leads you are getting from your traffic. This way you can tweak your campaign for maximum results. The other cool feature about Adbrite is that you do not have to build a keyword list. You can just run an ad and it will do it for you, but you have the option of targeting keywords if you want to. It is different then Adwords in that you don’t bid on each individual keyword. You just put a couple that are related to your website.

I will make some posts later on about sample PPC ads that you can use to start your PPC campaigns if you don’t know how to write ad copy, but don’t let that stop you from trying it out. If you just keep on waiting to find the perfect information or “Golden Nugget” you will always find yourself stuck in a cycle of reading and not taking action and will never get anywhere except spending more money. Just go out there and try things out. Instead of spending $97 on the latest e-book that has some revolutionary secret to making millions, try spending that money on advertising instead. The e-book won’t make you money, only the person who wrote it will profit from it. At least the advertising is an investment into your business and future. This is just a basic template. You can come up with your own ideas and personalize it to the person sending the email or personalize it with your name also. Just don’t forget to put your RWF website at the end of the message.

This reverse email technique can also be used with free classified websites or newsgroups or any kind of message board where people advertise business opportunities and leave a contact email.

This week I want to talk about the main advertising force behind Residual Wealth Factor which is the use of Ezine solo ads. If you have not started sending them out yet you are missing out big time. There is a reason why David can get more then 100 sign ups every week and that is because he constantly has solo ads in circulation and tracks the results so he can reinvest his profits back into the campaigns that perform well. It’s really not that hard to do. All you have to do is get ad tracking software and place a code on your website which tells you how many hits and how many leads you get from whatever solo ad you placed. If you run a campaign and get a lot of leads which lead to GDI signups, then run it again until it does not work anymore.

Before you spend money on solo ads you should have ad tracking software or sign up for a web based service.

I personally use Adtrackz because it is software that runs on your own server and you only pay once. You can also use a service called Adminder which is subscription based and runs online.

I have seen a lot of you sign up for the VIP team but still have not tried out solo ads. I run at least one every week. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t, but if you want to grow your business fast and get your site in front of the right audience, then this is the way to go. You should run at least 1-5 solo ads every week in addition to the free advertising methods I teach to maximize your list building and sign ups.

In addition to the list of ezines that are on the team website there are also other ways to find targeted newsletters to advertise in that are potential untapped goldmines of new prospects and signups.

If you don’t want to do any research and want a complete directory of ezine publishers to contact for advertising, I suggest you check out The Directory Of Ezines. It’s a one time fee to join but will save you a lot of time and hassle of searching for ezines to advertise your solo ads in. David uses this one as one of his sources for ezines.

You are not just limited to the ezines on the team website. There are many other ways to research your own ezines and find new and profitable newsletters to advertise in. Here is how you would do it.

Go to Google and do a search for ezines. Put a keyword in quotes to target an ezine that our target market would be in.
Example: “mlm” ezine, “network marketing” ezine, “work at home” ezine, “internet marketing” ezine. Come up with your own variations also and keywords.

Go through all the results and find ones that accept advertising and do solo ads. We only want to deal with solo ads becuase these will be our own mailing to the subscriber list without any other ads involved.

Now we want to take all of our potential ezines and pre-screen them to try and judge weather or not they will be good for the ads we will be placing. Remember that just because an ezine has a lot of subscribers does not mean an ad will be effective or not. The price of an ezine also has no impact on an ads performance, but generally the quality or number of subscribers will effect the price of the ad.

1. Sign up for the ezine.

Use an alternative email address for your ezine subscriptions. You can then see what kind of solo ads other advertisers are placing and decide if your ad will be something the subscribers will be into. If you see an ad that is run every week, this is a good sign that it is a profitable campaign and the person running it is having success with it or else he would not rerun it again and again.

2. Contact the publisher.

This next step is optional but highly recommended if you really want to investigate further about your ad source and if it is right for you. You can either email them or call if they have a phone number and tell them you are interested in advertising in their publication and would like to know if anybody else has run a similar ad or if they think it will be something their subscribers will most likely sign up for. This way you can know if the subscribers have ever been exposed to your program already by other advertisers. This is a great way to find untapped markets.

3. Set up ad tracking and run the ad.

Now you are ready to submit your ad with your ad tracking link. Just sit back and wait for the ad to be publish and watch the results. You want to basically take the amount of leads you get and compare that to the number of GDI sign ups you get so you can estimate your conversion rate. If you get 100 leads and get 8 GDI sign ups, your conversion rate for GDI sign ups is 8%. This is really just an estimate. The only conversion rates we can really track are lead sign ups and we have to estimate the GDI sign ups compared to how many leads a campaign brings in. If we had our own product we would be able to better track sales conversions, but because we are affiliates of GDI, we can’t install tracking code on GDI’s website.

4. Reinvest half of your profits back into advertising

If you placed an ad that cost $100 and you got 20 GDI sign ups you would get a $400 bonus from GDI. You would simply keep $200 for profit and reinvest $200 back into placing new solo ads and then keep repeating the process. Don’t worry any money that you lose can be written off as a loss and reported at then end of the year because you now have a home business and all the tax advantages that come along with it.

Bonus Tip!: Before you run solo ads you can always test your ad copy in a number of free safelists to see which copy converts better before you placed the real paid ad. Try changing around headlines and body copy. Sometimes just one word can make the difference between a winner and a loser.

That’s about it for solo ads. Go out and place at least 1 a week at a minimum. That’s the only way you are going to build your GDI business fast and keep the momentum going. Once you start making enough money and are getting 20 sign ups a week, you can have ads running on autopilot that bring in cash 24 hours a day.

This week we are going introduce using free and paid classifieds to get targeted traffic to your Residual Wealth Factor website or your GDI website. I have put together a list of the top 12 classified websites online. This list was compiled using sites that have the highest page rank and highest Alexa ranking. For those of you that don’t know what page rank or Alexa is, it is basically a system put in place to determine the authority of a website and the amount of traffic in gets. Google assigns page rank to websites from 0-10, with 10 being the best. You can think of page rank as votes for your website. The higher the number, the more authority it has. Alexa is website that tries to analyze the traffic going to a website with a ranking system called Alexa rank. The lower the number here, the more the site is being visited, although it’s been said to be very inacurate and easily inflated, but most of the sites with really low numbers are the most visited in the world including Craigslist which has an Alexa rank of 65 currently.

Before you place your classifieds, it’s a good idea to do some keyword research first. A lot of times sites like Craigslist and US Free Ads show up in search engine results for certain keywords.

Here are some sample keywords that you can input that are great for finding people that would be into GDI and RWF:

When you put these search terms in, they will return lots of long tail keywords related to them and also the amount of times they are searched every day. You want to try and target a keyword that gets around 50-200 searches a day. Anything more and it will be extremely difficult to near impossible. Forget about ranking for something generic like”make money online”. Although you can do it eventually, it’s not going to happen with one classified ad.

You want to take the keyword you choose to optimize for and include it in your ad title and body copy:

A couple of more tips for classified advertising:

1. Link your classifieds to other classifieds. For example if you place an ad in US Free Ads you can place a similar ad on Craigslist and backlink it to your US Free Ads classified. This will give you extra search engine juice. Repeat this with as many sites as possible.

2. Bookmark your ads with Onlywire. This will get you even more backlinks to classified ads and more search traffic.

3. Don’t make exaggerated claims of income. Be honest and try to offer something free to the user.

4. Last but most importantly, don’t forget to track your ads! You need to know which sites are getting you signups and you need to split test your ads to see which ones perform the best.

Next to article marketing, the one thing that I spend a lot of time on and you should start doing right now is forum marketing. There is a right way and a wrong way to do this and you must do it right the first time or you will be seen as a spammer with no credibility and only trying to get your link seen and clicked by people.

Forums drive traffic to your website because they allow you to place a signature link in the bottom of your post. When people read your post and you deliver some kind of answer to their question they might notice your call to action in the signature link. They then click on it and are brought to your website or lead capture page. Our goal is to get people to sign up for the Residual Wealth Factor e-course so this is the link that we will be promoting.

There exist forums on virtually every know topic online. What we will be doing is joining forums that are related to our niche so we want to find forums that are related to MLM, network marketing, Internet marketing, affiliate marketing, web hosting, domain names, making money online, business opportunities, etc…

It is a good idea to join under two different user names.  One will be for asking questions and the other will be for answering questions. Try and spent anywhere fro 20-30 minutes every day hanging around the forums and posting. After awhile people will start to recognize your name and associate it with trust and authority. When you have this kind of reputation, people will be more willing to buy from you or sign up for your program, in this case sign up for GDI.

Before we get more into forum marketing, I want you to download this free program called “Forum Fortunes”. This neat little program makes it possible to organize all of your forum marketing campaigns and saves your user names and passwords for all of the forums you belong to. It also lets you bookmark forum posts and keep track of all of the conversations you have going on at one time. It’s shareware, but I think you can also buy it for real cheap on eBay. That’s where I got it from. I am not sure if this version of it expires or not.

Setting Up Your Signature File

After joining the forum that you choose, you are going to go to the user profile manager and update your signature link. Some forums let you use HTML, but some run on another forum code called BBCode which is very similar.

Here is an example of a signature that I use using BBCode and HTML:

Anything in between the tags will be anchor text and become clickable. I suggest you take a look at other people’s sigs and see how they do it. Come up with your own unique tag line. Try to avoid anything that sounds like hype or too far fetched. You need to put some kind of call to action like we do in our article resource boxes. Always try to offer something free like a free trial offer or a free e-course like the one above. Don’t just put in something like “Click here to work at home”. Our main goal is list building with the signature file.

Begin To Answer And Ask Questions 

When you first join a forum go to the section where it says introduce yourself and tell people why you are there and what you do. You then want to simply browse around the different threads and look for popular discussions and take part in them. If you don’t know how to answer someones questions, look around for answers in other forums and come back and answer in your own words.

Try and make medium sized posts and don’t just write one or two sentences. This will only make it look like you are trying to post only to get your signature seen. It is also in your best interest to write a long post because it can be picked up in the search engines and bring you more traffic.

Tip: When you are doing keyword research in Google, take note of any forum threads that may be in the top 10 listing. You can then join that forum and add to the thread and your link will now be in a thread that is indexed on the first page of Google. This is a sure way to find a thread that receives a lot of free traffic. We will cover this technique later on.

Every time you post you are also gaining a backlink to your website which is good for search engine optimization. The more backlinks you have to your website, the more search engine traffic you will get.

Where To Look For Forums? 

You can simply go to Google and type your keyword in quotes followed by the word forum.
Example: If I were looking for forums on network marketing I would type in: “network marketing” forum
It will return all related forums with the word network marketing.

If I could recommend starting out with anything, it would have to be article marketing. This is one of my favorite techniques that I use every week and it works real well. For those of you that are not writers it should not be a concern. First of all, I really sucked at writing when I first started I didn’t know how I would pull it off. I am now banging out 600-700 word articles in fifteen minutes. It gets a lot easier when you do it all the time, and if you are totally not confident in doing it you also have the option of outsourcing the work cheaply.

What Is Article Marketing?

Article marketing is simply writing articles on something you have knowledge on and submitting it to article directories online. At the end of your articles, you are allowed to place a author bio or resource box which can include a link back to your website. What happens is people search for keywords and these articles get picked up by search engines. The person reads your article and if they find it interesting or want more information, they are presented by a call to action in your author bio box which will hopefully have the answer to their problem. They then find themselves on your website and either sign up for your mailing list or leave. It’s that simple.

What Can We Write Articles On? 

Our main focus is to attract the attention of people that would be interested in joining GDI. To do this we are going to write and submit articles on subjects based around these areas:

1. Internet Marketing: Their are hundreds of sub-topics in Internet marketing.
2. Multi Level Marketing or MLM also known as network marketing: Lead generation, prospecting, downline building
3. Web Hosting: Shared hosting, free hosting, hosting companies
4. Domain Names: Articles about the domain industry, buying and selling domains
5. Review Articles: These are the best articles to write. Try coming up with a article reviewing GDI or Residual Wealth Factor. You can also write articles comparing two companies or products.

Tip: Try and come up with articles like: How to….., Tips on….., Frequently Asked Questions, Secrets of…., etc.

The goal is to provide the reader with useful information. What will begin to happen is as you do this more and more, your name will be associated with being an authority in your field. People will then begin to trust you and everything you say. They will be more open to checking out your business opportunity and buying what you recommend.

How To Write Articles 

All articles follow a basic style format and are usually between 450-500 words.

Title: The title of your article that will grab the readers attention. Be sure to include a keyword.

Introduction: Your first words which will tell the readers what you are writing about and what they will learn.

Paragraph 1: Each paragraph will be devoted to one point.

Paragraph 2: Second point

Paragraph 3: Third point

Conclusion: Sum up everything you have talked about and tell the reader your final thoughts and advice.

About The Author: Include a “call to action” telling the reader to visit your website for more information. Always try to offer something of value like a free report or newsletter. In our case we would be telling people to sign up for the free 7 day Residual Wealth Factor e-course or trying out GDI risk free for one week.

Article Marketing Research

Finding topics to write articles on is easy. First we are going to do keyword research. We will use the free keyword tool from SEO Book.  Go here: http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/index.php

Type in a search term like MLM or Internet marketing and look at the results. This is how many times people are searching for various keywords. We are going to use these keywords in the title of our articles and also in the body of the articles. This is what will get picked up in the search engines.

Next go to Google and type in the keyword you want to write about. Look at the results and search through them to find content that you can put into your own words. Try and find 3-4 points and these will be your paragraphs. All you have to do is add a title, introduction, and conclusion and you have your article.

You can also look at other people’s articles and use them as inspiration to rewrite your own. Another option which we will get into later is private label right articles, public domain works and hiring a freelance writer.

Writing Your Author Resource Box

This is the most important part of your article. It is what will get readers to click through to your website and sign up for the mailing list. Always include a call to action and offer more information or freebies. Here is an example of a good resource box:

One of the most asked questions I receive from new GDI affiliates is what can I do to get started?, or how do I get traffic to my website? That is where this blog comes in as I take you by the hand and show you step-by step what I do to make money with Global Domains International.

The first step you should take if you have not done so already is sign up for the V.I.P. team. If you have not done so, send me an e-mail requesting an invitation and I will send you the team sign up page as soon as possible.

If you have already signed up for the team I suggest you follow all of the steps and start sending out solo ads, but please do not do it if you are not tracking results, because you are going to lose money. Also be sure to try and take part in the monthly co-ops when you can.

The next thing you need to do is get familiar with GDI and how everything works.

Browse around and get yourself familiar with everything. Learn about GDI and how it works so you can best promote yourself.

Next thing I want you to do is log in to the GDI forum and see what people are doing and asking. Take part in discussions and ask questions. You can find answers there to any questions you might have. There is a lot of good information for new affiliates and answers to common questions. You can also contact me for additional support and advice anytime.

Simple Things You Can Do Right Now To Get Traffic To Your Website

The basic goal in Internet marketing is to get your website in front of as many targeted audiences as possible. The are many ways to get website traffic, but we are only going to concentrate on the most effective means of advertising both paid and free. Paid advertising like solo ads will get you results quickly, while free advertising methods could get fast results but generally take a little time and are more long term results.

You want to saturate the Internet with as many links as possible pointing back to your website. This is how we get traffic. The more traffic you get, the better chance their is of getting GDI sign ups, it’s that simple.

I am going to go into much more detail in future posts about many of these methods, but these are just a few simple things to start you off with. You can also expect to see some traffic from my rotator which I have put you in, but don’t rely on this to build your business, it won’t happen.

1. Use The GDI Invite System

In the members area there is a invite system that will send out e-mails to friends and prospects. If you know anybody and would like to invite them great!, if not move on. Also don’t get to excited about buying leads. This is a sure way to lose a lot of money. You don’t need to buy leads because you are going to be generating your own with the Residual Wealth Factor system.

2. E-mail Signatures

From now on when you send out an e-mail, I want you to include a signature at the bottom with your website URL in it. If you use Outlook Express you can simply do this by going into the drop down menus and click signatures to set it up.

Here’s a little secret to getting a ton of viral traffic from e-mail sig’s. You know when you get those e-mails that are forwarded to that have been forwarded about a thousand before you times like a joke or a cool story. If you start one of these you will be getting your sig out in front of a lot of potential prospects if the e-mail goes viral. Just send a joke or story to a friend and hopefully they will forward it to there friends and it will go on and on.

3. Free Classifieds

There are literally hundreds of places on the Internet that you can post a free ad. Stay tuned for a list I am putting together of the top free classified sites. One of the best places to Advertise is Craigslist. I have read about many other GDI affiliates getting sign ups through it. You can place an ad in the “Small Biz Ads” section in any city. Craigslist gets millions of hits a month. Just go to Google and type in “free classifieds” and you will find thousands of sites. Another one that is getting popular that is similar to Craigslist is Gumtree.

With free classifieds you can either promote the GDI business opportunity or promote it as web hosting or domain name registration for the .ws extension and also the web site builder software. Just don’t make the ads to much hype or they will be ignored or flagged for spam.

4. Blogging And Social Networking Sites

The Internet is all about content and Web 2.0 is taking over. Sites like Squidoo, MySpace and HubPages are taking over the search engine results and filling the net with content for everyone. Sign up for these sites and start a lens or page about GDI and write about the opportunity and yourself. These pages are like food for the search engines and will get picked up and shown in search results for certain keywords over time.

You can also start a free blog at Blogger or Wordpress. These are also great ways to get search engine traffic. You also want to update them weekly so you constantly provide fresh content for the search engines.

Here is an example of a blog I just started. This is also a blog which you will see has banners and links to GDI with your URL being rotated in it. This blog is in most of my forum sig’s so it will be sending you traffic in the future.

Tip: You can also comment on other people’s blogs and leave a link back to your website.

The Internet Marketing Den

Another one that I forgot to add was YouTube. This one is huge and has so many possibilities. We will cover this in depth in future posts on this blog.

5. Article Marketing

This is one of my favorite and most used techniques to drive traffic to my website. All you have to do is write a 300-500 word article about a topic related to GDI like web hosting, domains, mlm, network marketing, making money online or a review of Global Doma insInternational and submit it to top article directories like:

Articles let you include a signature in the authors resource box with a link pointing back to your website. These articles also get picked up by other websites which will drive even more traffic. We are going to go very in depth with advanced article marketing techniques as we move along down the road.

6. Forum Marketing

This is a real easy one. Sign up for a few forums related to MLM, Internet marketing, making money online, affiliate marketing, web hosting, domaining, etc. Go to Google and search for forums. Sign up and start asking and answering people’s questions. You can leave a link to your website in the forum signature.

7. Thinking Outside Of The Box

There are many obscure everyday marketing things you can do to get exposure to your website. I have a sticker in the back of my car window with my website on it. Try other off line techniques like business cards and flyers. Put a business card every time you mail out your bills.

Every time you get e-mail from another marketer or advertisement respond to it and put a link to your site. This is called reverse marketing. I have even tried writing my website on the back of money. Think about how many times a dollar exchanges hands everyday!

My best advice would be to track everything you do with an ad tracker. Take it slow. Don’t get overwhelmed and if you get a sign up, send them a welcome e-mail with an invitation to the V.I.P. team and offer them any help they need. If you can’t answer their questions, forward it to me or another upline and we will answer it for you.

Before we get started and take the first steps in getting targeted traffic to your website, I want to recommend to you something that is going to be a valuable asset to your business if you want to maximize your returns over the long term and also tell you if your advertising is working.

Now I don’t want you to spend a ton of money on software, e-books or anything else that is marketing related to get started. Any of that money is worth much more if you put it into paid advertising like e-zine solo ads. I have wasted so much money on junk software and I wish I could go back and put it into advertising.

Before you spend any money on solo ads, banners, text links, classifieds or any other form of paid advertising you MUST HAVE SOME KIND OF AD TRACKING SOFTWARE!

Even if you are doing free advertising like article and forum marketing, you have to use ad tracking so you can spend your time online efficiently and only run campaigns and use ad sources that are converting for you.

The benefits of ad tracking are:

• Being able to see where your clicks are coming from (article directories, solo-ads, forums, banners, etc.)
• Testing different headlines to see which ones convert better (This is known as split-testing ads.)
• Knowing how many people are signing up for your mailing list (Essential for knowing if a solo-ad is effective.)

This is how we make money with solo-ads. We track and see which ones convert well. If it does good, run it again. If it is a failure, trash it and move on. Put half of your profits back into solo-ads and other forms of paid advertising.

This is how every online marketer is able to consistently make a return on their investment. I can’t stress enough how important it is to track your ads. Like I said before, I don’t want you spending money on lots of useless software and books, but investing in an ad tracker can be one of the smartest investments you will ever make and will make you a very big return on your investment.

Now their are lots of different options when it comes to ad tracking. You can pay for a monthly service that is web based or you can buy software that installs on your server.

I recommend installing it on your server yourself because you pay only once and once you recoup your investment back you don’t have to pay no more and you are in profit. You also are in full control of it having it on your own server.

The software that I use and think is best for someone new to ad tracking is called Adtrackz.
