Before the days of user submitted video online article marketing was and is still one of the most effective ways to get started making money from either affiliate programs or from your own product or service. It is vital that you learn the basic concept of article marketing if you are just getting started out with trying to make some money online. If you are going to get good at just one thing, then article marketing should be on your list of things to master. Once you learn the basics, you will be well on your way to being able to generate income and website traffic for a very long time.
Let’s take a look at the events that take place that will take a visitor from going online to winding up on your website to making a purchase with your article acting as a buffer in between.
The concept is very simple. Let’s say some opens up there web browser and is searching in Google for tips on dog training. They might type in something like “dog training tips for pit bulls”. While the user browses through the results they come across a site that says “Dog Training 101: Proven Pit Bull Training Techniques”
Now take a look at the tile what do you see? The same keywords you typed into Google are appearing in the title of the website that comes up in the results. The user now clicks on the search result and is taken to a page which has an article. The person reads this article which provides very valuable and useful information about dog training and specifically about Pit Bulls. As they finish up reading the article they come across at the bottom a little blurb about the author which might say something like: “To learn more great tips and secrets about training Pit Bulls, visit Jimmy’s website at dog training secrets and sign up for his free crate training secrets monthly newsletter.”
The visitor will then click through to his website because he values this person’s information and sees him as someone he can trust to teach him what he needs to know about dog training and solve the problem he is having with his dog. When he arrives at the website he might come to either a product sales page or a blog which offers a free newsletter about dog training. Now at this point the user can either leave the site if has no further interest or continue to look around and eventually make a purchase.
So articles make you money because you become an authority on a subject, the user finds your article through either a search engine, forum, blog or social network and then the user finds there way to your money site through your article author biography box at the end of the article which contains links to your website.
Now there is many things to learn about article marketing. What I have done here is taken you through the path of events that take place on the users end when you try to use this method. We will get more into keyword research and advanced techniques. Once you have articles written you will need to find an article distribution service or an article directory online to submit them to.
